Outside of the quiet village of Jemez Springs near the New Mexico/Colorado border lives a vibrant prairie dog colony packed with secrets. On the outside, you’ll see a group of prairie dogs pleasantly playing and nursing newborns, but take a closer look and you’ll find a world of violent battles for power, emotional stories of loss, and uplifting tales (or forgive us, tails…) of hope in the face of impossible odds.

“Prairie Dog Manor” is about little characters with big stories. We had a distinct vision for how we saw the series, and were absolutely thrilled for the opportunity to partner with Nat Geo Wild. Our goal was to create a world packed with indelible characters that felt relatable, while still remaining true to the actual behaviors of the animals as they are observed in the wild. We could not have accomplished this without the support of our advisor Dr. John Hoogland, and the support of everyone at National Geographic. We’re so proud of the end result, and can’t wait for you to experience the lives of these incredible animals. Also, did we mention that they are really, really cute?
