In August, Rotten Tomatoes will turn 21 and to celebrate their big milestone, they wanted to do something different and use it as an opportunity to commemorate iconic moments in films over past twenty-one years.

Armed with sample storyboards, it was a collaborative effort to envision the mix of animated animation, text graphic cards, footage and VO narrative that you see on their website today. They had the Rolodex; we had the artistic abilities – it was a match made in movie heaven!

Over the past year we worked with the Rotten Tomatoes team to conduct interviews with actors, directors and other key crewmembers, getting access to exclusive behind-the-scenes stories.  Everyone had incredible stories to share about these iconic movies but there wasn’t enough time to tell it all!

From each initial interview we whittled a visually enticing script and then the real work began. Our illustrators had the biggest hurdle to tackle – bringing these moments to life using different styles of illustration and animation. Our graphics team had the Herculean task of taking the literal words and making those words exciting and explode off the page. Our editors had the immense responsibility of blending these components with a delicate balance of original movie footage, weaving the completed story together.

We are incredibly proud of this series! It was an intricate team effort that puts a spotlight on how intertwined our team is and the incredible projects we create when our client dreams.
